Infrastructure & Facilities
For Learning Environment
The college provides a number of infrastructure and other facilities to the
students from the very date of the session, viz..
We have a well stocked library from the inception of the college. At present the library has 31675 books.
Book bank facilities are available to the students.
A large well equipped reading room for students and separate reading room for
teachers are there.
4. Departmental Seminar Library
Each Honours department possesses a seminar library to provide students with text
and reference books in addition to the facility provided by the main library.
Teachers are there.
5. Students Counselling Desk
Student friendly teachers are always available to sort out specific academic
problems as well as personal and social problems.
The College adopts several measures to secure a bright future for the students.
Teachers involved in the counselling cell provide students with information
through the different papers like Employment News and brochures sent by different
organisations. From time to time, entrepreneurship development programmes and
different other training programmes are organised for the benefit of the
students.
7. Grievance Redressal Cell
A grievance Redressal cell with complaint box has been set up to look into all
types of grievances of students and accept suggestions from teachers, students,
guardians & staff for better functioning of the College.
Purified drinking water is supplied from Aquaguard and the water cooler with proper
sanitation..
Institutional Membership of Students Health Home, Kolkata: The College has an institutional membership of the Students Health Home located at 142/2, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata.
Medical facilities to students such as free consultation at their polyclinic (for eye, Dental Extraction. Scaling, E.N.T.
, Surgery, Medicine, skin, Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Gynaenocology, Neurology, Cardiology, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Metabolism,
Chest Medicine, Nephrology, Hematology, Urology, Pediatrics, Clinical Oncology and Dermatology), medicines, vaccination, pathological tests, X-ray; E.C.G. E.E.G., Endoscopy and other tests, surgery etc.
and the treatment at their hospital are provided at a very nominal rate. And also miscellaneous services like optics available, dressing, OPD surgery and injection are provided.

A few fire extinguishers have been installed on every floor of the college
premise as a precautionary measure to deal with any probable calamity caused by
fire.
11. College Magazine & Wall Magazine
To encourage original thought & expression among students and to make them aware
of the ,recent events of the outside world, the College publishes a printed
magazine of its own every year. Also, there is provision for wall magazine
published by the students.
12. Extra Curricular Activities
It covers Inter & Intra-College competitions in Debate, Drama, Elocution, Music,
Drawing, Short story, College social, Freshers' Welcome and Farewell Programme
are held regularly. Extens!on programmes like environmental awareness, medical
camp, blood donation camp, AIDS awareness are taken care of every year.
It opens scope to express the students' ability in sports. Students take part in
various Inter-College competitions.
14. Students' Association
Every year several students are selected as class representatives. All class
representatives together form the students' association. Students' views are
expressed through this platform and it works in unison with the teaching and
Non-teaching staff.
It consists of : a) Common room with indoor games where the students can spend
their leisure time, b) Canteen, the students' food corner, c) Paid telephone
facility for students.
In order to train the students in Yoga & Gymnastics, the College has a centre
with a trained instructor.
Academic tours are arranged by several departments as part of their education.

2. Additional care for deserving students.
3. Parent -Teacher Meet once a year for better understanding of students'
progress.
4. Evaluation of teachers, teaching methods by the students.
5. Special recutars by persons of eminence arranged for students.
6. UGC sponsored seminars.
7. Active participation of students in civic awareness programme.
8. Educational excursions, Picnic and Saraswati Puja are organised every
year.
9. There is scope for prizes, scholarship and free studentship for
successful
and meritorious students.

11. Active participation of students and staff in Blood Donation Camps
organised
by the College.
12. The College participates in many Social Awareness Programmes. The College
is
a centre for the immunisation programme organised by the Kolkata Municipal
Corporation.
13. NSS : The College has opened NSS Wing under University of Calcutta.
